Paul Akers, the owner of FastCap, started with a simple idea for a self-adhesive screw cap cover and grew it into a major business dedicated to fostering and marketing innovations for the professional cabinet maker and woodworker. As FastCap grew, his site, fastcap.com, had to grow with it. The site had to continue to provide customers with an uncluttered and straightforward experience in keeping with Paul’s “lean” philosophy as well as presenting a face to the world that was as cutting edge as the company; providing it with a solid brand identity.
Our job was to look at the FastCap site and take it to the next level. Building on its ProductCart-based design, we looked at the strengths of fastcap.com and enhanced them by streamlining the site and creating a more dynamic, consistent visual appeal that reinforced the FastCap brand. With strategic modifications and the use of in-house modules, we increased efficiency and improved customer support by developing a predictive text search and introducing a cleaner, leaner navigation system that allows customers to explore FastCap’s growing product range with greater ease and enjoyment.
With its revamped look, clear, simple navigation, and more efficient shopping cart design, fastcap.com is now a lean, innovative site for a lean, innovative company.
By building on the strengths of the existing site and providing a design in line with FastCap’s “lean” philosophy of enhancing efficiency while reducing waste, we were able to provide FastCap with a streamlined, visually dynamic site that reinforced the company’s corporate identity while enhancing the customers’ visiting and shopping experience.
